The Whole truth: With tiled floors mixed with vintage, rustic vibes (think: communal table, exposed brick walls and an original ornate ceiling), Safehouse Coffee offers a great escape from the streets of Little Portugal. Anchored on the corner of Dundas St. West and Brock Ave., Safehouse Coffee pays homage to what stood on this corner before them. In the front window, there’s a live edge bar with stools and an open screen window that provides a perfect breezy perch for locals. The super friendly staff are welcoming in a sincere – we really mean it sort of way – and clearly love their job. The baristas also make an exceptional cappuccino (super thick and frothy) and use one of our favourite bean suppliers: Pilot Coffee Roasters. Safehouse Coffee evokes a warm sense of community into this corner spot and they even encourage patrons to share a message inside the washroom. Wholebean couldn’t resist.
